sexual-reproductive-health-and-rights-program-for-adolescent-girls-and-young-women

There is an evident gap in access to sexual reproductive health interventions among adolescent girls and young women, particularly those who use drugs. Through the practice of peer education, YouthRISE Nigeria’s sexual and reproductive health intervention includes; provision of sexual reproductive health information, referrals for treatment, and counselling.

The project offers a process for capacity building of adolescent girls and young women to bridge the knowledge gap in information, and access to treatment services, by providing; hygiene kits, maternity kits as well as training programs. YouthRISE Nigeria sustains advocacy and engagement with stakeholders including; National Agency for the Control of AIDs, Federal Ministry of Health- National STI Control Program (NASCP), FCT Primary Health Care Development Board, Nigeria Police Force, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, UNAIDS & UNODC, to promote access to sexual and reproductive health services and information in communities.  Our partnership with the FCT Primary Health Care Development Board, is to ensure ownership of this intervention within communities, wherein there is improvement in access and delivery of sexual and reproductive health services.
