We Are People Campaign
WE ARE PEOPLE is YouthRISE Nigeria’s flagship advocacy campaign that seeks to create awareness on drug policy reform and address the stigma/discrimination faced by People Who Use Drugs (PWUD). The fast-growing campaign which is spreading across local and international entities focuses on changing the negative perception and narrative on drug use and people who use drugs, and garner a critical mass of support among policy makers, stakeholders and the general public for humane drug control.
Over the years, Civil Society Organisations, youth groups, government institutions and the general public have shown support for the objectives of this campaign, as we continue to address the human rights and inhumane consequences of criminalization of people who use drugs and repressive drug policy.
While the primary focus of the campaign is drug policy, it fundamentally serves to promote human dignity and human rights.
